I must tell you... I am pretty annoyed about that new Disney movie coming out in September. You've probably heard about it as the trailer is now on YouTube - it's called "Beverly Hills Chihuahua".There are a lot of people upset about the movie... many for political reasons... but I'll tell you why I am upset -- this stupid movie is just going to make TONS of people want a Chihuahua!
Now if they are responsible pet owners - have done their research on the breed to be sure that a Chihuahua is right for their family, that is not a problem. But unfortunately that will often NOT be the case. Many people will get us as pets for their small children - mistakenly thinking that a small dog is ideal for a small child... NOT!!! grrrrrrrr
Many of these people may also think that we will behave just like the chihuahuas in the movie... NOT!!! grrrrrrr
The sad thing is... the irresponsible puppy mills will be churning us out like potato chips without caring what happens to us -- or even taking care of those pups mommas and daddies! There are going to be TONS of chihuahuas in Chihuahua Rescue :( as if there aren't already a lot of us there already!
My Momma adopted ME from Chihuahua Rescue USA so I know!
That is exactly what happened to the Dalmatian breed when Disney came out with the movie 101 Dalmatians.
